Do you have a student who will be between 6th and 12th grade during the 2018-19 school year? We have a great event planned for them! Send them on over this Saturday, August 18th, from 10 am until 3 pm for our Youth Group Water Olympics. Please RSVP if your teen plans to attend

Students in 6th through 12th grade, our youth group is taking a trip to the beach this weekend, rain or shine! If it's storming, the plan is to stay at the carousel, but the youth leaders are hoping Michigan weather pulls a Michigan and the forecast changes so the teens can make it to the splash pad or beach. Please let Lucas or Deb Schiefer know if you plan to attend so they can plan proper transportation

As we look forward to worship service tomorrow, Pastor Scott would like to share this message, "Please, please, please bring someone you care about to church with you tomorrow. This could be the most important day in their eternal lives." One day seems small in comparison to a lifetime, but one day can make all of the difference in eternity. If you do not have a home church, we would love to have you join us and give SLCC a try. If you attend with us regularly, invite your friends and family. You never know how God might use that hour in your life or the life of your loved ones. Worship services starts at 10 am. We hope to see you there!

Don't forget to come out to the blood drive today! $10 will be donated to the youth group for every donor or donation attempt. The blood drive will run from 2-6:30 pm in the Family Life Center, so stop by, support the youth, and help save a life with your blood donation!

We are so excited! It's finally Vacation Bible School week! Come join us and be Shipwrecked! Ages 5 years through 5th grade are invited to come participate in all of the fun from 6-8:30 pm tonight through Friday night, and parents are invited to join each evening for closing at 8:15. This is sure to be a fun event that you won't want to miss! Children will need to be registered their first night attending to ensure our VBS team has proper contact information for parent/guardians in case of an emergency. Please plan to stop in and help register your child

Tomorrow, June 17th, is not just a great day to join your Dad at church, it's also our annual outdoor service. Join us at 10 am for our morning worship. We won't be having our usual Bible classes after service, but we are having a time of fellowship during that time and would love to have you stay. We hope to see you there!

We have a new ministry opportunity! If you're a bit of a techie, a little bit of a ham, or have a creative mind, we need you. We're looking to step up our video announcement game and we need a team of video editors, announcers, and a creative director who are willing to meet between Thursday and Saturday each week to create the Sunday morning video announcements. Our longterm goal is to have quality video announcements produced by a dedicated team of individuals. There are approximately 250 commands or declarations regarding musical praise of the Lord found in the Bible. It's no wonder that musical worship is such an important aspect of the Christian life and of fellowship within the church. For many, music is a form of communication for the adoration and gratefulness felt toward our Creator and Savior. That is precisely how our Worship Team at SLCC feels about leading the congregation in praise on Sunday morning. In fact, that is almost exactly the words Shelly, our Worship Director, spoke when asked how she feels about her role in ministry. "Worship is almost like putting prayer to music. It's a unique and beautiful way to communicate our love and life to the King of Kings in gratefulness for what He has done." Our Worship Team is encouraged on Sunday mornings, watching the congregation join in praise. Seeing the power and holiness of God reflected in the voices raised to honor Him and witnessing individuals in the congregation give themselves fully in worship of our King strengthens and restores our Worship Team each week. Their hope is that each person who joins together in praise will be inspired to either come to know God personally or to know God more deeply and personally.

Sunday, April 15th, is Week 2 in the Raising Life Ready Kids sermon series. The real Pastor Doug Cuthbert will be sharing a a biblical perspective on parenting in today's culture, while Lucas Schiefer will be joining him to help raise a faith-based awareness for some of the unique struggles faced by the current generation of adolescents and children. We hope to see you at the 10 am morning worship service!

Chris McKenna, founder of Protect Young Eyes, has been in the news for a few years now. He's recognized nationally as an expert in internet safety for children and teens. The Protect Young Eyes group will be coming to Sister Lakes Community Church on April 25th to offer insight for parents, caregivers, educators, and relatives to help develop healthy boundaries and a stronger understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of raising children in a digital culture. Our youth directors attended a seminar by Protect Young Eyes and found the information incredibly helpful for working with teens and raising their own young children, two very different age groups! This will be a great opportunity for anyone who regularly interacts with children or teens, and a great opportunity for teens themselves. We are starting the celebration of Christ's resurrection with a sunrise service at 7:30 am and will have a worship service at 10 am. Between these services will be a time of fellowship over breakfast. This is a Sunday you will not want to miss. Gather with us as we celebrate sin and death having been conquered through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection.

We just want to take a moment to thank all of the donors, vendors, chefs, volunteers, and speaker who helped make our Sportsman's Banquet happen yesterday. Trunk or Treat 2017

If you were in worship service Sunday morning, you might be curious about the drone video from Trunk or Treat. We couldn't get it to play during service, but we can share some of it right here! Thank you to the Clark family for providing us with drone video this year and thank you to all of the volunteers who selflessly served during the event. We hope all who attended had a blast!
